Etihad Football Stadium

Consistent service and support

We maintain a permanent staff base locally to the club in order to provide event stewarding throughout the year, with our presence ramped up on event and match days to provide car parking, traffic management and visitor/VIP services. We provide staff for match day, non-match day, external events and partner events where required, often at short notice. Other aspects of our service provision include teams of drivers to manage the valet parking operation (including player cars, hospitality guests and VIPs). Our team also manages admission to each of the stadium’s car parks and gate access to the venue.

Results, Return on Investment, and Future Plans

Tracsis Events is responsible for the venue’s Transport and Traffic Management Plan (TTMP). The TTMP has evolved over several years through close work and consultation with key stakeholders (e.g., TfGM Urban Traffic Control team, MCC Highways team), for example, in line with stadium expansion the TMP has recently been updated to include plans for management of traffic visiting the new music arena currently under construction at the venue. Our team are seen as a key partner to the club’s facilities management team, and also work closely with other service providers at the venue to ensure wide understanding and effective implementation of traffic management plans. We regularly pilot and implement new and innovative working methods and technologies to support the customer’s vision of a more efficient and sustainable future traffic management operation.

Strong working relationships

Our long-term appointment to this contract, most recently competitively tendered in 2020, has allowed the Tracsis Events team to develop strong working relationships with key third party stakeholders in the operation, including Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), Manchester City Council (MCC), Greater Manchester Police, Highways England, and the city’s various transport service providers e.g., Stagecoach. An example of how our relationships have supported delivery of the operation include TfGM’s Urban Traffic Control team approval for Tracsis Events operatives to manually control permanent signal assets.
